Iran’s armed forces are fully prepared to respond to the enemy in the event of any aggression, Ebrahim Rezaei noted.
Speaking in an interview with Mehr news agency, he pointed to the country’s defense and military capabilities, adding, “I can assuredly say that today the defense and combat readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran is much higher than four months ago, and we are at the peak of readiness and will respond decisively to any aggression.”
Surely, if the enemy does evil act, Iran’s response will be more regrettable and devastating than before, Rezaei emphasized.
The enemy is not in a position to attack Iran, he said, and called on all walks of life to continue their normal lives, and society should not be worried about war.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the lawmaker pointed to the snapback mechanism invoked against Iran and stated that Iranian parliament terms the activation of snapback mechanism ‘illegal and cruel’, and the two permanent members of the UN Security Council (UNSC) have also declared it illegal.
The re-imposition of the United Nations sanctions under the snapback mechanism would not affect the country, he stressed.
Earlier, Iranian foreign ministry lambasted the three European countries for launching the process of the snapback mechanism to return the UN sanctions on Iran.
On June 13, the Zionist regime launched an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran, targeting military, nuclear, and residential areas for 12 consecutive days. The United States later escalated the conflict by striking three of Iran’s nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan on June 22.
Iran’s Armed Forces delivered an immediate and forceful response. The IRGC Aerospace Force carried out 22 waves of retaliatory missile strikes under Operation True Promise III, inflicting significant damage and heavy losses on cities across the occupied territories.
In retaliation for the US attacks, Iranian forces also targeted al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar —the largest American military installation in West Asia— with a barrage of missiles.
The confrontation came to an end on June 24, when a ceasefire was enforced.
